The Minnesota Timberwolves for a long time were an underestimated team in the NBA.  But with some recent acquisition of great young talent and the backing of some experienced NBA veterans they have the potential to be one of the leagues most exciting teams next season.  With amazingly talented young blood in Zach Lavine, Karl Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins they have the potential to be an explosive and deadly team.  Add a seasoned point guard like Ricky Rubio and a future hall of famer Kevin “The Big Ticket” Garnett to the mix and you have the recipe for a potentially amazing season.

The only real question would be how they fare with depth in their second unit.  The bench is critical in an 82 game regular season and in the post season as well.  Only time will tell if this team can live up to it’s potential.

Jason Taumalolo throwing a gridiron like pass at Cowboys training

Cowboys star Jason Taumalolo could shock the entire NRL with a Jarryd Hayne like code switch to the NFL after he has put contract talks on hold for now. This come’s as a massive surprise to fans everywhere as they have only just begun witnessing the 2011 NYC player of the year reach he's long awaited potential. If Jason Taumalolo does choose to stay with the cowboys beyond the 2017 season he is set earn close to $1 million dollars, however the longer talks go on with Jason's agents the less likely the NRL will see of him. This comes off the back of a stellar season with the Cowboys finals run leading the way with he's hard running and dominating defense and will be without a doubt a massive blow for the North Queensland Cowboys and the NRL.

NBA cracking down on groin shots

With the controversy of Golden State’s Draymond Green’s repeated groin shots on Oklahoma City Thunder’s centre, Steven Adams during the Western Conference Finals as well the groin shot to Finals MVP, LeBron James which ultimately lead to his suspension in game 5 of the Finals, the NBA has instructed referees to crack down on players who excessively flail their arms and legs in an attempt to put an end to these fouls.

This may have come from external pressure from the online community who following these events have shown a great deal of discontent with the NBA’s officiating standards when it comes to this matter.

The NBA senior vice president of replay and referee operations, Joe Borgia, said this in light of the controversy: “Now all of a sudden legs are coming out in different directions at weird times, they're coming higher...Well, for the protection of the players, we're going to stop it.”

Hopefully these instructions are put in place effectively with the 2016/17 season soon to kick off, and we can move on from the groin shots and watch these men do what they do best; play basketball.

Has Mourinho lost his touch?

Does Mourinho still have the answers?
Credit: ESPN FC

Jose Mourinho's tenure at Manchester United has not started as he would have hoped, with the Portuguese manager setting unwanted records. After a seemingly comfortable start to the Premier League season, the Red Devils have now lost their past three matches: the loss at Watford is their first loss at Vicarage Road in 30 years.

On a personal level, Mourinho has lost 16 of his past 34 matches, after having lost the same amount in his previous 111 games in charge. Excuses are unavailable after spending £149m in the transfer market, where further stagnant results would place Mourinho in a comparable situation to last year.

His tactical aptitude has perhaps gone awry. Pogba's presence has been lacking, with the world's most expensive footballer hardly living up to his £89m price tag. Coupled with the continued inclusion of the ageing Rooney, Manchester United is toothless in comparison to its storied past

His brazen 'us against the world' attitude may have fared well for him in the past, but with the financial and tactical freedom he has been offered, it appears an early exit could once again be possible for the most controversial man in football.

Image result for greg bird titans

Greg Bird during an NRL match for the Gold Coast Titanscredit: http://images.performgroup.com/di/library/sportal_com_au/67/62/greg-bird_1mymm30z14vdd1a88h3sjkertc.jpg?w=1280&h=720&quality=100

NRL hard man Greg Bird from the Gold Coast Titans has allegedly been caught up in an altercation Saturday at the Brunswick Hotel in northern New South Wales where he was with fellow team mate Anthony Dons on his bucks weekend.

According to sources Greg Bird was denied entry after being too intoxicated which as a result lead to an altercation between staff and security. Since the altercation Titans have issued a statement to the daily telegraph saying “The club is aware of an investigation currently underway by the NRL Integrity Unit regarding an alleged incident at a hotel in northern NSW last weekend,” it read. “At this stage those investigations are yet to be completed so the club is not in a position to comment further until the outcome has been determined.”

However this is not Greg Birds first time being portrayed negatively in the public eye when in 2014 Greg Bird was spotted urinating on a police car after he's wedding.

Kevin Durant recently signed with the GSW for 2 year deal worth just over $54 million

The Kevin Durant trade to the Golden State Warriors has been a BIG topic of discussion in the NBA world.  In and around the NBA people have called Durant a sell out and say that he’s chasing rings.  There’s been a song made called “F Kevin Durant” and his Oklahoma City jersey has been burned by some fans.

Honestly everyone just needs to chill.  Ok fans have some right to feel betrayed and upset but still, it’s a game, your life isn’t dependant on it.  I feel like there wasn’t this much backlash when Lebron James decided to go to Miami to join D-Wade and Chris Bosh, especially from the media.  And at least KD didn’t have an hour-long TV special just to announce what was going to happen.  He’s a grown man and he made a decision, for whatever reason he did. Lets just leave it at that and stop treating Kevin Durant like a bad guy.
In what seems to be one of the biggest NRL signings in recent years Robbie Farah has shocked the nation in signing in what is an allegedly 2 year contract with bitter rivals South Sydney Rabittoh's.

South Sydney Rabbitoh's CEO has already spoken following the signing making this statement to ABC reporters"Within our organization Robbie will strengthen our club and we look forward to working with him when he joins for our pre-season training". This signing comes only weeks following the controversial fallout between West Tigers coach Jason Taylor and Captain Robbie Farah which ultimately saw Robbie Farah Playing in NSW Cup for the seasons end.

The signing of Robbie Farah also saw St George Illawarra signing off contract up and coming star Cameron McInnes of the Rabbitohs who’s services will not be needed next season.
